Fins n Chrome need iso settings

Idea for Assignment... or maybe just photo practice using manual settings.  I was  happy with the results.. perhaps a little boring though.. all too similar.

Photographic movement attempts - Bikes n Dust

One of my favourite things in life is to ride motor bikes.  I love the speed, sound and environment.
Here I have tried to capture the bikes in focus, which wasnt particularly succesful.  Unfortunately the back ground was also out of focus.. I am blaming my eyes still at this point!
But I feel the effect of the dust is awesome!  In the future I would like to have the dust more isolated.
I shot 400 ..... so the bike was not a blur.
This excercise was a great learning experience and I hope to attempt these shots again sometime, and of course it wont take much to get the hoons out for some dust fun displays.

Sunset/Nightime photography attempt

Still trying to work out manual settings, but I only had to jiggle these a little on ps.  I used the flash in some pics. I was hoping to capture the falling back on the trees.
I would like to practice night time photography a little more...when time permits.

Easter Weekend learning

I Haven't done a post for a while, but have taken lots of photo's, deleted lots of photo's and made lots of mistakes.. so I guess I am getting there.

Have had a really hard time getting photo shop... lack of funds... what a pain in the ...

Anyway, here are some photo's I took with the hope of being able to use in my series of 6 photos...

I took over 1000 pics, many were over exposed, some were under exposed and some were ok.  Unfortunately too many were blurry, maybe it is my eyes that are blurry...  I had my camera booklet and class notes with me for the entire Easter Weekend to learn how to use the manual settings my new camera and I have to say, that it helped, even if just a little. Below are a stack of photo's which I have played with, some were beyond repair.  I find I have a fondness for using the saturation and vibrance in ps...my eye likes colours a little brighter than they might actually be.  I used a lot of the ps exposed alterations due to the terrible job I did setting my camera.  Camera settings were f.5,1/60  with iso of 400... I think iso was the problem, should have been 100.

Photographs by Harmony Nicholas

An Adelaidian Photographic Artist - with ATTiTuDE!

I love Harmonys work.  On her website she has pictures of commercial and personal works.  So much effort into her shots which are bright, vivid, polished, fun and so creative with some being totally unusual and a what the?   It looks like she uses a lot of photo shop with the perfect tones in the skin of her models.  Some of the reason I also enjoy her work is that it links to my life with advertising bands and clothing designers I personally know with much of the sub kulture image I enjoy socially - i.e, hair, make up, clothing, attitude.
